As I am the age of the grandmother I would want my annex to be the same quality as the house, I don't think they had enough money left to make any space for her the same level of finish, shame on the host for expecting her to settle for less.

The kitchen in the second house IS beautiful. I liked the church hall, but too crammed in and no outside space.

What is with the host's laughter? She does it so often that it must be a nervous habit. Unfortunately, it is like nails on a chalkboard and detract from the flow.

I loved all of the houses. As filmed, it seemed all could be lived in easily enough with some paint and muscle to lift carpets. Adding a bit of time, and maybe some of the updates don’t really need doing. The location is all!

For the budget they had none of these houses were very inspiring.

A quintessential quirky free spirit, who I knew at first glance wasn't going to find the right "aura" because she had already made up her mind she wasn't going to move there! I've never seen a ETTC episode like this one. Love the gracious Alistair.

I hate to say it but I find the wood paneling of the mystery house ghastly. It doesn't match with the period of the house at all. Shaker style with an almost orange hue clashes with the original wood.

What a blessed grandmother.

All fantastic properties -- but I actually LOVED house #1! It was like a postcard, but I understand it may be further away from work than they wanted. Would love to know now what the family ultimately decided to do.

Liked all the houses - the mystery one location was incredible, although that house needed a lot of work to update.

Sue wants to escape to the country. These homes weren't it. Since Sue does not need a specific location because of her career, hopefully, Sue will broaden her search to find the home that suits her heart.

Asking a neighbor to cut down their trees? Really? Holy cow but these folks sound awfully much like Americans---and as I'm an American, this is not a bias but the truth about my own countrymen and -women. It's a form of entitlement that is unattractive. And Alistair didn't even wince. He's a true gentleman.

Did anyone notice in this episode of The mystery House that there was something large crawling on the back wall of the downstairs room that the ladies went into. It was an office. And when they pan the room the top wall to the left was some kind of large creature crawling across it. Does anyone know what that was? I would have immediately screamed and ran out of the room. 😬

Good for Sue, a woman who knows what she wants. I felt that she got somewhat short-shrifted by these properties; only the first one really had a shot, and even there the view was limited and the garden not adjacent. And why was every property either attached, in a development, or smack in a village? It's almost as if the program couldn't trust that a woman on her own would want to live independently rather than communally.

Don’t understand why the mystery house was chosen. Nicki does say there isn’t much on the market, but that house is the opposite of what house hunter wants. 😮

I like the coffee community truck and it's mission.....With a budget of £1,2million pounds, I am sure the perfect property would not need any renovation.....Nice home with a granny flat.... Perhaps holiday let's for granny to run....
